I love to read. Not that I have as much time to read as I did before Peanut was born, but I still try to fit in a book here and there. That’s why I took the opportunity to read Michal’s Window. I have a very eclectic selection of books so this fit right in. I was sent this book to review and figured I’d see what this biblical romance was all about.
The book tells the tale of King David, but from a new perspective. That of his first wife, Michal. The tale is a great love story. As she swept you away into the past, she wrapped you up in the story.
For me, the beginning to a little while to get going, but once it was going it didn’t stop. I am not too well versed in the Bible, but I knew the basics of the story. This love story is one of the only times that a woman’s love for a man is recorded in the Bible. She intertwines fact and fiction to make this story an amazing read. The details provided help whisk you away to the past. It was so easy to imagine the scenery and all of the emotions that were flowing. Michal’s love for David is endless and she continuously shows that time and time again. They face so many trials and tribulations through out the course of their relationship, which med from the time they were teens and ventured long into adulthood. Like most good relationships, no matter what the ups and downs that they went through, in the end, love was all that mattered.
