Task #4: Delegate Chores
When we reach out to each other for help, everyone benefits. Chores bond families, and mutual favors cement neighborhoods and communities.
– MINIMALIST PARENTING, Chapter 3 #MinCamp
When your children are babies, they are the work that needs to be done. But sooner than you expect, kids grow into capable members of the household.
Today’s task is to delegate three household chores to your kids. Giving kids chores may seem like more work at first, but it’s as close to a parenting “sure thing” as you can get. Not only will you gradually reduce your workload, you’ll teach your kids practical, esteem-building skills they’ll use for the rest of their lives.
Too bad I can’t do this. Somehow you cannot delegate to a 10 month old. There is no one else to delegate to… I don’t think my hubby wants any of my chores.
What tasks are you going to delegate today?
