I was in the mood for healthy snack but it had to be quick and easy. Toddlers aren’t the most patient of people. A quick look at my pantry and I decided to make hummus. Most recipes I found online required ingredients I didn’t have on hand, so I took the basic idea and added what I wanted to.
Can of chick peas
Drain the can of chick peas and reserve the liquid.
Add chickpeas to blender/food processor.
Add other ingredients. I used about 2 Tbsp garlic, 1 tsp lemon pepper, ½ tsp cumin and a dash of celery salt.
Add liquid, I used about ¼ cup, to blend to the right consistency.
Garnish with pita chips.
That’s it. You can change around the ingredients to your taste. I loved it and it took me under 5 minutes to whip up something healthy that the kid loves.
