Day 26. What popular notion do you think the world has most wrong? #30things

What popular notion do you think the world has most wrong? #30things Ugh... I know why this is still a draft after a year.  I wasn't sure what to say.  Is it the way society portrays women?  The right to be happy? Everyone can PURSUE happiness,  but that doesn't guarantee it.  No one ever said it would be easy. Women are not stick figures, and the ones that are aren't very attractive.  Get over it, real women have curves. So yeah, thats it for now... // < ![CDATA[ // < ![CDATA[ _// Read more [...]

Day 25. If you could have dinner with anyone in history, who would it be and what would you eat? #30things

This is a tough one, probably why this draft has been sitting my box for literally a year and a day.  Hmmm.... what a coincidence.  So as I sit here and ponder the who, maybe I will focus on the what. Right now I am CRAVING a steak, so in my mind I would totally be having steak and potatoes.  Nothing fancy, just good home cooked food.  This is probably totally selfish since there are many out there who don't like meat. Back to the who.  There are so many people that I would love to sit Read more [...]

Day 24. What’s your favorite and least favorite thing about parenthood? #30things

Yet another of the funny #30things my kids should know.  I am never going to let Peanut live this down. Heaven help, right now my least favorite thing is poopy diapers....  This child has decided that he is an artist.  I have to catch the diapers before he figures out how to get it out and EVERYWHERE.  I know this is payback for the things I did to my mother as a child.  But, right now it seems like this is a daily game for him.  And he just finds it so flipping funny. But... my truly Read more [...]

Day 20. Describe some significant memories from your childhood. #30things

Catching up on my 30 things my kids should know about me... Most of my childhood memories revolve around high school and I don't exactly want to share those memories.   But I do remember my mom's horse biting my baby brother.  We had been feeding Billy carrots... next thing you know,  my brother sticks his finger out and CHOMP.  Of course the horse thought the finger was a carrot, they look the same, I have seen a set of photos of my brother and I on the beach.  You can see me working Read more [...]

Day 27. What is your favorite part of your body and why? #30things

Not sure why this is in the 30 things my kids should know about me but... here we go Right now, I love my hair.  Its settled down since pregnancy and I really like it.  Everything else is still attempting to return to its former glory.  It's amazing what pregnancy can do to a body.  I know they try to prepare you but nothing can prepare you for the damage.  I know there are people out there who are lucky and get away looking just as amazing as they did before the pregnancy, but I am not one Read more [...]

Day 23. What’s your favorite holiday and why? #30things

Christmas... no question about it.  I just love the season, not the hostile people at the mall though.  I start decorating for Christmas in November.  I think, at least most of the time, that this brings out the best in people.  I have loved it since I was a child.  I would spend half the year counting to Christmas and the other half counting to my birthday. What is yours? Read more [...]

Day 22. Where do you see yourself in 5 years? 10 years? 15 years? #30things

Day 22 of #30things... A few years ago, I would have wanted my CPA and potentially my own firm. Now, things are completely different. 5 years - I want to be done having kids and I will be homeschooling Peanut, since he will be 5 by then.  I would like to have a little bit bigger of a house, not much because I am so not the best housekeeper.  Somewhere in there, I would love to have my blog bringing in some income AND selling the diapers and stuff I make. 10 years - Well since my future Read more [...]

Day 21. Describe your relationship with your parents. #30things

Two words... Roller coaster. I think that most people can relate to that though. You love them as a child, hate them as a teen, and realize how right they were as you grow up. My mom is one of my best friends now, but there is no way that I could have said that during high school. Back then, she was HORRIBLE (or at least in the mind of a rebellious teenager) I will always be a daddy's girl. I miss him terribly. I could always talk to him. We had our spats but I never doubted how much he Read more [...]
