Day 20. Describe some significant memories from your childhood. #30things

Catching up on my 30 things my kids should know about me... Most of my childhood memories revolve around high school and I don't exactly want to share those memories.   But I do remember my mom's horse biting my baby brother.  We had been feeding Billy carrots... next thing you know,  my brother sticks his finger out and CHOMP.  Of course the horse thought the finger was a carrot, they look the same, I have seen a set of photos of my brother and I on the beach.  You can see me working Read more [...]

Day 24. What’s your favorite and least favorite thing about parenthood? #30things

Yet another of the funny #30things my kids should know.  I am never going to let Peanut live this down. Heaven help, right now my least favorite thing is poopy diapers....  This child has decided that he is an artist.  I have to catch the diapers before he figures out how to get it out and EVERYWHERE.  I know this is payback for the things I did to my mother as a child.  But, right now it seems like this is a daily game for him.  And he just finds it so flipping funny. But... my truly Read more [...]

Day 27. What is your favorite part of your body and why? #30things

Not sure why this is in the 30 things my kids should know about me but... here we go Right now, I love my hair.  Its settled down since pregnancy and I really like it.  Everything else is still attempting to return to its former glory.  It's amazing what pregnancy can do to a body.  I know they try to prepare you but nothing can prepare you for the damage.  I know there are people out there who are lucky and get away looking just as amazing as they did before the pregnancy, but I am not one Read more [...]

Day 23. What’s your favorite holiday and why? #30things

Christmas... no question about it.  I just love the season, not the hostile people at the mall though.  I start decorating for Christmas in November.  I think, at least most of the time, that this brings out the best in people.  I have loved it since I was a child.  I would spend half the year counting to Christmas and the other half counting to my birthday. What is yours? Read more [...]

Day 22. Where do you see yourself in 5 years? 10 years? 15 years? #30things

Day 22 of #30things... A few years ago, I would have wanted my CPA and potentially my own firm. Now, things are completely different. 5 years - I want to be done having kids and I will be homeschooling Peanut, since he will be 5 by then.  I would like to have a little bit bigger of a house, not much because I am so not the best housekeeper.  Somewhere in there, I would love to have my blog bringing in some income AND selling the diapers and stuff I make. 10 years - Well since my future Read more [...]

Day 21. Describe your relationship with your parents. #30things

Two words... Roller coaster. I think that most people can relate to that though. You love them as a child, hate them as a teen, and realize how right they were as you grow up. My mom is one of my best friends now, but there is no way that I could have said that during high school. Back then, she was HORRIBLE (or at least in the mind of a rebellious teenager) I will always be a daddy's girl. I miss him terribly. I could always talk to him. We had our spats but I never doubted how much he Read more [...]

19. How did you feel the moment you became a parent?

I think you become a parent the moment you find out you are pregnant. At least, that's how it was for me. Every decision after that moment was about my child, no longer just about me. I was scared and excited and every emotion bundled into one. We were in the middle of wedding planning when we found out.  I remember just knowing I was, but I needed to take the test to be sure.  There were butterflies in my stomach.  Then, I needed to take a second test, just in case the first one was wrong.  Read more [...]

Day 18. What do you think your spouse loves most about you? #30things

Why on Earth do they make these questions so hard?  I would love to have some easy ones.  I don't like digging into things like this, but maybe my kids will read these one day and it will all be worth it.  So here I sit, watching knitting videos ( I will figure this out one day) and dig into my brain as everyone else is the house is asleep.  Yay for some quiet time.  How else am I going to figure this out. I would like to believe that there are many thing he loves about me.  Well, at least Read more [...]

Day 17. What is the thing you most wish you were great at? #30things

There are so many things I wish I could do better.  Painting, piano, knitting, singing, speaking foreign languages... the list could go on for some time. I think out of everything I can do but wish I was great at is playing the piano.  I just find it so therapeutic.  I played some through my whole pregnancy, so it still seems to calm the beast. I have never taken formal lessons.  My father taught me when I was younger, and I continued to teach myself over the years. I cannot tell you Read more [...]

Day 16. What are your greatest accomplishments? #30things

Everyone has accomplishments that they are proud of.  At different times in your life, each one may be important than others.  I have so many things to be proud of.  I'm going to list them, but they aren't in any order other than what my brains comes up with.  LOL it is still early in my mind and I'm only on my first cup of coffee, so forgive me. My degrees, all 3 of them, even if I am not using them  (Anyone looking for a virtual bookkeeper?) My son, I am proud of him every day, albeit Read more [...]
